REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Applies to: services (film/media development, production, post, design, strategy).
Entity: Starhopper Studio LLP.

Confirmation & Advance

A booking is confirmed only after MoU/SOW signature and receipt of the advance ([% advance], unless the MoU/SOW states otherwise). The advance secures dates and vendors.


Client-Initiated Cancellation

If you cancel after confirmation:
(a) pay actual out-of-pocket costs incurred (crew, locations, equipment, permits, travel, vendor fees), and (b) pay for work completed to date (development, pre-production, creative, edits).
Advance: once pre-production begins, the advance is non-refundable. If actuals + work < advance, we refund the balance; if > advance, we invoice the difference.

Producer-Initiated Cancellation

If we cancel for reasons within our reasonable control, you may receive a refund of unutilized fees/advance (net of non-recoverable third-party costs), or we will propose substitute dates/vendors acceptable to you.

 

Quality & Rectification

Report scope-related issues within 7 days of delivery; we’ll rectify scope-compliant defects at no charge. New requests/changes beyond scope are billed.

Force Majeure

No party is liable for delay/failure caused by events beyond reasonable control (extreme weather, strikes, government action, major outages, illness). Non-recoverable vendor costs may still apply; we will reschedule in good faith.

 

Third-Party Licenses

Licenses for music, fonts, stock, plugins, props, sets, locations are non-refundable once issued and limited to the MoU/SOW usage.

 

Refund Method & Timeline

Approved refunds go to the original payment method (bank/UPI/card) within 7–10 business days after verification. No cash refunds.

 

Taxes and TDS

Invoices include GST as applicable. Refunds are processed net of non-recoverable bank/processor fees and taxes. If TDS is deducted, the certificate must be provided within statutory timelines.

Email legal@starhopper.in with MoU/SOW number, project name, reason, and supporting details. We acknowledge within 3 business days.
